An experiential learning course for undergraduate/graduate students and community stakeholders to sustainably build evaluation capacity. Course objectives have been developed to align with the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) core competencies for evaluation work.
Learners from across all disciplines are welcome. UEval is designed to accommodate beginners with no prior evaluation experience and those with advanced evaluation knowledge.

This course will integrate blended learning principles, with lectures and activities in the morning, and facilitated group case study work in the afternoons. UEval will be offered online this spring (2024). Delivery format for subsequent course offerings is yet to be determined.
This course includes:
Pre-course online modules (four) that students will be required to complete prior to the start of synchronous sessions.
Synchronous sessions over the span of one week.
After the completion of the week-long intensive, learners will be required to submit a completed evaluation plan. There is no final examination.
Course materials will be provided via eClass at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the one-week intensive, including: the syllabus, access to the online modules, a reading package, online articles, and reference to relevant websites.
