In the words of our learners...

“My case group experience will influence the way I approach my community group work moving
forward…There was much about the content that was reaffirming for me, showing me that my
organization is on the right track. This is significant because if we are already doing so many things right,
then that makes “good” evaluation much more tangible for our agency. It means that making evaluation
an integrated, naturally occurring part of the work we do, is an achievable goal.”

"The field of evaluation is vast and growing; I am by no means an expert now. However, when I return to working in the non-profit sector, I will take with me a new perspective on evaluation. It is no longer overwhelming and tiresome—I understand what it is, how to approach it, and tangible ways to implement it effectively. I look forward to engaging with members of the community to build our evaluation capacity together, discovering fresh outcomes of our work, and meaningfully contributing towards greater community growth."
Graduate Student
ECN Trainee
“I noticed a lot of sharing, conversation and learnings happening between those that had community experience and those that had more graduate course experience. Everyone had the opportunity to lean on others within the course to expand their perspectives and learn more. Each person in the class or in the group work brought a different perspective, skills and experience to the table. While that means there are dynamics to navigate, I think it creates a great opportunity for engagement, creativity and learning.”
